Title Grant Programs

Title I
Title I of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA/ESEA) is a federal funding program designed to close achievement gaps and ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education. Part A, the largest part of the program, allocates funding to districts and other local educational agencies (LEAs) according to a formula based on numbers/percentages of children from low-income families.

Title II
Preparing, Training, and Recruiting Licensed Teachers, Principals, and Other School Leaders Grant

Title III
Title III is a part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA).  Under Title III states are required to demonstrate that EL (English Language) students are proficient in state content and achievement standards in mathematics, reading or language arts, and science, and that these students are progressing in their proficiency in the English language.

 Title IV
Title IV, Part A was enacted in 2017-2018 and is known as the Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) Grant. Title IV is a flexible block grant that authorizes activities in three broad areas.
-access to a well-rounded education
-improving school conditions for learning to ensure safe and healthy students
-effective use of technology to improve academic achievement and digital literacy

Title V
The Rural Education Achievement Program helps meet the unique needs of rural schools.
